Solid rosewood chair designed by Kai Kristiansen. The model 42 was designed for Schou Andersen in the 1950s.
Also known as the “Z-chair” due to the shape of its armrests, this chair’s back is nicely rounded providing interesting visual contrast and comfortable seating.
Set of 12 dining chairs, entirely restored in our workshop and upholstered with high-end bouclé fabric.

Kai Kristiansen is a Danish furniture designer. After his furniture making apprenticeship in 1948 he was accepted at the Academy of Fine Arts. In the mid 50's he opened his own design office and collaborated with Schou Andersen for whom he designed the famous chair number 42. After a 60-years career, he still inspires us today.
